SUMMER CAMP
general camp information
Are we right for your child?
The purpose of our production camps is to put on a big show complete with costumes, sets and props for which we can all be proud! This means tons of rehearsing our songs, scenes and dances.
YEP we have A LOT of fun at camp, BUT putting on a show is also HARD WORK.
Attendance is important. Students must be available for the full camp and shows.
Your child should express a strong interest in taking part in a performance.
Our new or younger students who may not have stage experience might find it hard to see the bigger picture and may not feel the rewards until the show/camp is over. The repetition of learning music and dance may at first be tiring or even boring. We think that's ok. Your kids will play games that stretch their imagination and their bodies and invite them to step out of their comfort zones. Not only will kids learn their lines and songs, but they'll learn to listen, focus, support each other, and open up their minds. We think every moment is a learning experience that not only preps them for the show, but also for life.
Our camps take place at Saint David of Wales church and Genesis Project . While we are grateful to be part of these communities, PDC is not affiliated with any religion.
We hold activities indoors and outdoors all day and all summer. Both St David of Wales and Genesis Project locations have added A/C units. On a 100 degree day they help, but as the buildings are both shared spaces we will still spend a lot of time outside.
Every summer is different as the needs of our students and families change. We pay close attention as the year goes on and listen to parent feedback after the camp session.
Grades
The grades listed for camp are the grade your child will be in NEXT SCHOOL YEAR. Because of the popularity of our camps we do not make exceptions for siblings.
Affording camp
We use the honor system for granting financial assistance - we do not check income or other documents. We are hoping those families applying for scholarships truly do need them as we limit the number we are able to give out each year. FOR SUMMER 2024 families may only apply for financial assistance for one camp per child.
Payment plans are offered to all participants. If using a payment plan you are auto-charged on the specified dates to the card with which you registered.
If you are not paid in full by the time camp starts your child can not start camp with us. If your card changes, you can update payment details in your Jumbula account. Please email us for a special payment arrangement if needed.
A sibling discount of 10% is automatically applied at checkout.
Refunds
You may receive a full refund before April 1, 2024 (minus a $65 admin fee) and a 50% refund (plus the $65 admin fee) from April 1-May 31, 2024. We do not offer refunds for any camps after June 1, 2024.
WAITLIST
There is no charge to be on the waitlist. We'll contact students in the order they joined the waitlist if openings arise. Invoices are issued only upon full registration after a spot becomes available - you are not automatically charged even if a spot opens up.
We can only switch your child to a different camp after you’ve registered if there is no wait list for the camp you want.
